The short version

AskFoodi is a restaurant and menu search site for Curaçao. We collect the minimum needed to run it: an account so you can save preferences and post reviews, and the food preferences you choose to enter. We don't sell your data and we don't run third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

What we store

  • Account: your name, email address, and a hashed password. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt — we never store or see the original.
  • Food profile: the allergies, dislikes and diets you enter. This is used only to filter and flag dishes in your own search results. Allergy information can be considered health-related data, so it's optional — the site works without it.
  • Reviews and photos: the rating, text and any images you post. These are public, and shown next to your first name.
  • Sign-in security: we log failed sign-in attempts (the email tried and the IP address) for a short window to block password-guessing attacks. These are deleted automatically after a day.
  • A session cookie that keeps you signed in. It's strictly necessary for the site to work and isn't used for tracking.

What we don't do

  • No advertising networks, no third-party analytics, no tracking pixels.
  • We don't sell or rent personal data to anyone.
  • We don't email you marketing you didn't ask for.

Who else is involved

The site runs on hosting and database infrastructure provided by our hosting company, which necessarily stores this data on our behalf. Menu text uploaded for automatic reading is sent to an AI model provider purely to extract dishes and prices from it.

Your choices

  • Edit or clear your food profile any time on your profile page.
  • Delete individual reviews and photos from the restaurant's page.
  • Delete your whole account from your profile page. That removes your account, food profile, reviews and photos. Any restaurant listing you had claimed stays on the site — it's public information about a business, not personal data — but it is no longer linked to you.
